The Bay is ideal for swimming, water skiing, boating and fishing or just a lazy barefoot stroll on the beach and watch the sunset.
Awhitu Golf Club - 18 hole course.
Grahams Beach Bowling Club - roll-ups Saturday/Sunday from 1:30pm. Thursday from 4:30pm. They also have Petanque.
LOCAL PENINSULA ATTRACTIONS
Manukau Heads Lighthouse, Awhitu Wines, Awhitu Regional Park, Pollok Arts & Crafts, various coastal & bush walks.
There are various restaurants in Waiuku including The Shires, Kentish Hotel and several other ethnic flavours. On the peninsula the Awhitu Golf Club Bistro (summer only) is open Friday nights for dinner, 5.30pm - 8.30pm and on Sunday for a cafe lunch, 11am - 3pm. Bhana’s Store at Matakawau serves takeaways Thursday through Sundays.
